Cranborne Chase - Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), was the first National Landscape in the United Kingdom to be designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve (IDSR) on 18th October 2019.
At the beginning of 2025, these road signs were installed on the perimeter of the reserve, to aid public understanding of this special area and improve ‘sense of place”’within the nationally designated landscape.
Dark-sky status continues to promote and raise awareness of the AONB as a pledge to protect and improve its dark sky for future generations.
