Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) and the Milky Way

• Connection to Category: Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) reached its perihelion-closest point to Earth—on 9/27/24, so I knew it was moving farther away from Earth. The days were also getting shorter. As both the comet and the Milky Way were setting earlier, I felt some urgency to capture my one last image of the Comet and the Milky Way. The closest dark sky in the San Francisco Bay Area is the Point Reyes National Seashore, and this is where I traveled to. High tide had flooded the creek to give me this wonderful starry reflection.
