My friend and I spent the entire night at West Virginia’s highest point. As clouds covered the sky early in the night, we thought the shoot would be a loss, but at the perfect moment the skies cleared. An added bonus was intense green and red airglow.
The image here is a 6-section pano in the sky and foreground. 1-minute exposures for both, and additional exposures with a narrowband filter to capture hydrogen-alpha. All was captured from that night, from the same location, and with the same camera and lens.
