- Two nighttime phenomena at once: The International Space Station (ISS) and Comet NEOWISE meet in the night sky over Lake Erie as seen from Vermilion, Ohio, in 2020. The starlit sky competes with light from the western shore of the lake, as well as city lights from Detroit, Michigan, about 70 miles away. The image is composed of 6 exposures stacked to capture the movement of the ISS.
