  • The night sky in Aoraki Mount Cook National Park is absolutely stunning and well deserving of its status as a Dark Sky Reserve. I captured this panorama while tramping in the area with my family, a southern hemisphere summer milky way arch over mount Wakefield. I was fortunate to discover a sky full of colour, with strong green airglow as well as red Aurora Australis. All of this colour was vivid, and I even managed to capture some faint hydrogen-alpha omissions around the Orion constellation, despite using a standard, non-modified camera
